Back to the dungeon for a clothing change and off to the Casino

We opted to walk from now on and head back to our room for a shower and clothing change, this is the first time I will be wearing shoes since leaving Australia, thong Havanas all the way.

We looked for a taxi to the casino but there weren’t any waiting this time so we walked to the casino and got there a bit sweaty and puffed. The air is thinner up here at 1900m and you can really notice it. The several hotels up here are all connected with an internal network of internal hallways and excilators, really easy to get lost. I think from the entrance we took from outside we took 5 excelators up to find the casino, its a bit of a rabbit warren in here. We finally found the Casino which must be one of several and had a look around at all the keen gamberlers. This is the only casino in Malaysia and must get a lot of visitors spending up big.

By this time after a long day I was struggling to keep my eyes open, but we did a tour and couldn’t find any texas holdem tables which is probably a good thing. There were a lot of other poker variations and different games going on but we / I had enough so we headed to the bar on the lower level for a few drinks before heading back to our cave in dingy town. Good night.

Next morning we woke… whew we made it through the night. We were greeted with a cloudy morning and could barely make out the buildings that were clear the day before and Toni was happy that she touched the clouds.

We packed up and headed to the ground to be greeted by torrential rain so Toni bought a cheap umbrella at the deli and we went to drop our keys and hail a cab. Well no cab so we lugged our backpacks back up the hill to the fancy hotel and decided to lounge at Starbucks on the free wi-fi which happened to not be working today. Good thing I bought a sim card for my iPhone. Our bus wasn’t till 3:30 and the weather was horrible so we decided to take our chances to head back down on the cable car to see if we could catch an earlier bus.

The return cable car was just as nice on the way down as the clouds had cleared some and the rain eased. Once at the bottom we decided to explore the building and found a shop with all kinds of dried stuff, lots of dried fruits that some i haven’t heard of before, some dried fish and even dried rose. Lots to try as there were samples for each pile so i dug in on most of the fruits and opted for the un suggared mango to take away.

We managed to score an earlier bus with our ticket but had to wait as the driver needed to make sure there werent any missing passengers who booked we were lucky and headed back to KL Sentral station to catch a train back to our hotel in little India. Home and compared to the apartment this was a palace!
