There is absolutely NO WAY with all the time in the world that any one person could possibly see every single sight in Rome, Italy.
Every time we turned the corner after arriving at St Peter’s Square Train Station from Bracciano we found ourselves gasping WOW with what stood before us. They say the best way to see any new City is to get lost and there’s no better place to be lost in.
We started with 4 hours at the Vatican… Which included about a 20 minute wait in line to get in and then we decided we wanted to go up the Cupola (Dome Roof) so we waited another 10 minutes or so to purchase our ticket which cost 7 euros and then we went up the lift and walked and took photos and then we ran back down the stairs. All that took about 1 hour and then we spent about 3 inside the Cathedral. It is WOW!
From there we had lunch at an Italian Restaurant complete with red and white checked table cloth and ordered Lasagna and Gnocchi… Yummo!
Then it was time to get lost and we found The Pantheon, The Fontana Dei Quattro Fiumi (The Four River Fountain Square), Trevi Fountain (Complete with tossing a coin (Aussie 20c) over your shoulder and making a wish), Cobbled side streets teaming with busy cafe’s and restaurants and so many other buildings with beautiful facades.
We managed to find our way back to the train station and back to Bracciano after a fabulous day in Rome but our legs were tired from over 12 hours of sightseeing.
(BTW if your in Rome buy a Bierg Ticket as it saves money and lasts all day)
